SheetBrain is a Google Sheets add-on that scans spreadsheets for bugs before they break reports and decisions. Its free Sheet Check feature detects broken references, visible formula errors, mixed data types, duplicate lookup keys, formula pattern outliers, and missing copied formulas without using AI. The Pro plan adds AI-powered formula generation (describe what you need, get a formula that references your actual columns), debugging (find the root cause of formula errors), and schema repair (automatically fix formulas when columns are renamed or moved). What does Sheet Check do?
Sheet Check scans the active sheet for six classes of spreadsheet bugs: broken references (formulas pointing at deleted ranges or VLOOKUP column indexes larger than the range), visible formula errors such as #N/A and #VALUE!, columns where numeric and text values are mixed together (which breaks SUMIFS and COUNTIFS), duplicate keys in columns used by VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP, one-off formula pattern outliers inside repeated same-column formula runs, and missing copied formulas inside repeated formula columns. Every scan is free and unlimited with no AI call or quota hit.
What does Schema Repair do?
SheetBrain snapshots your sheet's column layout each time you successfully run Generate or Debug. If you rename a header, move a column to a new position, or delete one, Repair compares the live sheet against the last snapshot, finds every formula that still references a drifted column, and asks Claude to propose a safe rewrite for each. You can preview all rewrites in a single dialog, uncheck any you don't want, and apply the rest in one click.
What's a health score?
Type =SHEETBRAIN_HEALTH(A1:G20) in any cell to get a 0–100 health score (e.g. 87 — 2 issues) for the range you point at. It runs the same deterministic Sheet Check under the hood for broken references, visible formula errors, mixed data types, duplicate lookup keys, formula pattern outliers, and missing copied formulas, and summarizes the result as a single cell value. Pair with =SHEETBRAIN_ISSUES(A1:G20) to spill the full list of findings as a table. Both are free and do not count against your AI quota.
Are audit reports really public with no login?
Yes — anyone with the link can view your audit report without a Google account required. The URL contains a long random token, reports expire after 30 days, and you can revoke any report at any time from the Health tab. The report shows the verdict, severity counts, detector metadata, and per-finding entries (sheet, cell, severity, and canned explanation), but never raw cell values, formulas, or headers.
