Overview

A look at rozvibe.me
RozVibe is a privacy-first journaling and mood tracking application for Android that uses client-side AES-256-GCM encryption to ensure entries remain completely private. Built by an independent developer who wanted this type of app and couldn't find it, RozVibe encrypts your thoughts on your device before they leave the app, making it technically impossible for anyone but you to read your entries.
The app combines several core features: a clean rich-text editor for journaling, mood tracking with five emotional states (Radiant to Stormy), a calendar view of past entries with color-coded mood markers, and local analytics showing mood trends and word counts. All encryption keys are derived from your custom PIN using PBKDF2 with 100,000 rounds and are never stored on servers. Cloud sync uses Firestore to store only encrypted ciphertext blobs.
RozVibe is built on the principle that genuine self-reflection requires a space where no one is watching. The app is free and supported by ads through AdMob, but your journal text and mood data are never mined for advertising profiles or used to train AI models. It's designed for people who want a long-term trusted space for honest personal writing.

FAQ
- What is client-side encryption and why does it matter?
- Client-side encryption encrypts your data on your own device before it leaves the app. By the time any server receives it, it's already unreadable ciphertext. This means no server, no employee, and no database breach can expose your journal entries in readable form.
- Is RozVibe actually private or just privacy-focused?
- RozVibe is technically private. Client-side AES-256-GCM encryption means your entries are encrypted on your device before leaving the app. The encryption key is derived dynamically in your device's memory and is never stored on disk or sent to servers, making it mathematically impossible for anyone to read your entries.
- Why does RozVibe require an internet connection?
- Internet access is required to safely sync your client-side encrypted journal entries to Firestore cloud backup, fetch Firebase Remote Config adjustments, and request advertisement SDK systems to support ongoing app updates.
- Is RozVibe free?
- Yes. RozVibe is free to download and use on Android via Google Play. Core features including journaling, encryption, mood tracking, and journaling prompts are all available at no cost. The app is supported by ads.
