Overview
A look at focusfriend.me
Focus Friend is a free productivity app created by Hank Green that pairs users with an adorable bean companion during focus sessions. When you set a timer, your bean starts knitting socks. If you get distracted and use blocked apps, your bean drops its stitches and becomes sad. Complete focus sessions successfully to earn rewards that you can trade for furniture and decorations in your bean's room.
The app features a flexible blocking system, pomodoro breaks, bean customization options, and a cozy soundtrack. It includes an ADHD-friendly interface, no data collection, and no ads. Focus Friend became the #1 app in America and won Google Play's App of the Year by using positive emotional motivation rather than guilt-based approaches to productivity.
