FAQ

Is it safe to run this against a live site?
Yes - a scan is a read-only observation of pages that are already public. The scanner sends GET requests only: no forms, no credentials, no POST, and nothing that changes anything on your site. robots.txt is checked before a URL is fetched, and the crawler respects Crawl-delay declarations in full, keeping at most 4 requests in flight with at least 250 ms between requests, which is at most 16 requests a second.
Do I need an account or a card to try it?
Neither. You can paste a URL on the home page and get a score across all nine categories, your highest-priority finding in full, and a link you can share with no sign-up required. An account keeps the history and opens the rest of the findings. Pro offers a 7-day free trial with card required; other paid plans bill from the first day and can be cancelled at any time.
How is this different from running Lighthouse or a free header checker?
Those tools answer one question about one page and leave you nothing to hand to a client. WebAuditOS crawls the site, runs 199 checks across nine categories, and returns one weighted score with evidence attached to every finding, plus a prioritised fix list and a client-ready report you can brand on Agency plans. The difference is having one defensible artefact instead of multiple browser tabs and a spreadsheet.
What can a scan not tell me?
A scan cannot see things that are invisible from outside: password hashing, CSRF tokens, rate limiting, row-level security and whether backups restore. These sit in a manual attestation layer that never silently moves your score. Every finding is marked as auto-detected, inferred from public signals, or requiring your confirmation.
What happens when I hit a scan limit?
Nothing is charged automatically. New scans are refused with a clear message naming the limit you reached. Everything already scanned stays readable, and you can raise the cap immediately from Billing without waiting for a renewal.
