A fast, zero dependency, single binary job queue with built-in persistence and visibility
High-performance background job processing and task scheduling in a single native binary, powered by a persistent LSM-tree database with no Redis required.
Overview

A look at zizq.io
Zizq is a robust background job queue delivered as a single native binary. It provides high-performance background job processing and task scheduling powered by a persistent LSM-tree database, eliminating the need for Redis. The system works across any stack via a simple HTTP/2 API and includes official client libraries for Node.js, Ruby, Elixir and Rust.
The platform offers real-time observability with a built-in terminal UI showing live queue depth and worker activity. Jobs can be found and updated using expressive filters with atomic operations to move matching jobs between queues, re-prioritise, re-schedule or delete them. It supports polyglot architectures where jobs can be enqueued in any language and processed by workers in another language.
Zizq includes features such as persistent storage by default, prioritised queues, configurable backoff and retry policies, batched jobs, unique jobs with deduplication, time zone aware cron-style recurring schedules, concurrency limits, and smart rate limiting. The system is built on a transactional LSM-tree database ensuring jobs survive crashes, disconnects, and restarts.

FAQ
- What is Zizq and how does it differ from Redis-based job queues?
- Zizq is a robust background job queue delivered as a single native binary, powered by a persistent LSM-tree database. Unlike Redis-based systems, it requires no additional dependencies and includes built-in persistence and visibility features in one deployable unit.
- How does Zizq ensure job durability?
- Jobs survive crashes, disconnects, and restarts because Zizq is built on a transactional LSM-tree database. Durability is configurable on the Zizq server, and workers should expect at-least-once delivery.
