A look at uptime-monitor.simplebusinesssuite.com

Uptime Monitor is a monitoring service that tracks websites, APIs, servers, ports, cron jobs, SSL certificates, and DNS records to alert you before downtime affects your customers. It offers nine monitor types including HTTP, keyword, ping, port, heartbeat, SSL, domain, DNS, and content change detection, all accessible from a unified dashboard.

The free plan includes up to 50 monitors with checks every 5 minutes, all nine monitor types, and alerts via email, webhook, Slack, and Discord. Server monitoring for disk, CPU, and memory usage is available as a paid add-on. Every monitor includes incident timelines, uptime statistics, response-time tracking, and the ability to schedule maintenance windows to silence alerts during planned work.

The platform provides a REST API and MCP server for programmatic access to monitors and status data. Checks run from infrastructure in South Central US, and you can set up your first monitor in under a minute without requiring a credit card.

FAQ

What counts as down?
Two failed checks in a row trigger a DOWN alert. A single blip won't wake you up. What constitutes failure depends on the monitor type: HTTP fails on unreachable hosts, bad status codes, or missing keywords; ping fails on no reply; port fails on refused connections; heartbeat fails when a job goes silent past its interval plus a 5-minute grace; SSL and domain fail or warn on expiry; DNS fails when records change or vanish. You always receive a recovery alert with total downtime.
How often do you check?
Checks occur every 5, 15, 30, or 60 minutes depending on your selection per monitor. The free plan includes 5-minute checks.
Which monitor types are included?
Nine types are included on every plan including free: HTTP(S), keyword, ping, port, heartbeat, SSL certificate expiry, domain expiry, DNS, and content change monitoring. Server monitoring for disk, CPU, and memory is a paid add-on.
Is it really free?
Yes. Fifty monitors, nine monitor types, 5-minute checks, and every alert channel are free with no credit card required. Server monitoring is a paid add-on. A Pro plan with 1-minute checks, more monitors, public status pages, and SMS alerts is coming later.
Where do checks run from?
Checks run from the company's own infrastructure in South Central US. Multi-region checks are on the roadmap.
