A REST API and MCP server that calculates US import duties, fees and tariffs from HTS codes, origin countries and values, with official sourced data.
Overview

A look at tarifftrust.com
TariffTrust provides a REST API and MCP server for calculating US import duties and fees. Users send an HTS code, country of origin and product value to receive every applicable duty and fee from the tariff schedule and trade programs including Sections 301, 232, 201 and 338, with each amount sourced to its official, dated origin.
The API supports single product estimates, batch estimates of up to 200 products, whole import declarations, and tariff history lookups. It also offers an MCP server for integration with AI agents like Claude and ChatGPT. All data comes from official US sources checked every 6 hours, with the tariff schedule, Chapter 99 notes, CBP notices and Federal Register updates.
Use cases include calculating landed costs in ERPs, building e-commerce duty tools, creating freight and customs quotes, comparing sourcing decisions across origins, and enabling AI agents to access duty calculations. The service provides informational estimates only, not customs determinations.

FAQ
- Does the API classify products?
- No. TariffTrust never classifies products. Users send the HTS code themselves; the HTS explorer helps them find it from a product name or by browsing the official tariff.
- What duties and fees are covered?
- The API covers base duties, Sections 301, 232, 201 and 338, trade agreements, and entry fees. Antidumping and countervailing duties are excluded. The coverage page lists all programs calculated and the limits page shows what is not covered.
- How often are official sources updated?
- Official sources are checked every 6 hours and archived with checksums. Each API response names the data source it came from, and the status page shows when sources were last checked.
- Is an estimate a customs determination?
- No. TariffTrust provides informational estimates from published official sources only. Binding classification rulings and customs determinations come from US Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
