Overview

A look at localmem.org
localmem is a memory platform with two main products. The Memory API allows products to send documents that are read into facts, with searches and recalls available. It includes TypeScript (@localmem/memory) and Python (localmem-memory) SDKs that handle authentication, retries, and idempotency. The API is free during test phase and for the first three months after going live, then charged by documents read. localmem Teams integrates with Notion to automatically capture commitments and decisions from meetings, available free for 14 days and then at monthly rates of $50 or $100 based on meeting volume.

FAQ
- What is a document in the Memory API?
- Each document is something your product sends to be read into facts, counted once when it is taken. The same document sent again within 24 hours gets its first answer and is counted once.
- What counts as a meeting in localmem Teams?
- A meeting counts once, when localmem first analyses it. Analysing it again or deleting it later does not give it back to the month's allowance.
- What happens if I reach a limit?
- In test and the free months, the request is refused with the limit in words and the date it resets, and your admins are notified at 80% and 100%. Nothing is cut off silently and limits never delete anything.
- Who owns the data in localmem Teams?
- Your team owns the data. What localmem finds is written into your own Notion. localmem owns the software, never your content.
- When do the free months for Memory API start?
- On the day localmem approves your account to go live. They answer requests to go live within one working day.
