- What if Occlira misses a name?
- You see every finding before anything changes and can manually select any text the model didn't flag and add it yourself. Detection is measured at approximately 97% of sensitive values on a public legal-document benchmark, with contact and financial identifiers close to 100%.
- Is my data ever uploaded?
- No. Detection, anonymization and restore all run on your device. The app goes online only for license checks, downloads of its models and components, update checks, and what you choose to send such as feedback, survey answers or error reports. Your files and their contents never leave your computer.
- Will the AI still give useful answers when using anonymized placeholders?
- Yes. Placeholders are consistent—<PERSON_1> is the same person from the first page to the last—so the structure and meaning of the document survive. Restore then swaps the real values back into the AI's answer on your machine.
- Does Occlira work without an internet connection?
- Yes, once its models are downloaded. Detection, OCR, transcription and redaction run on your device. The app goes online to activate the license and re-check it every few hours (offline it keeps working for a 14-day grace period), to download its models once, and to check for updates.
