A look at eurovalidate.com
n8n-nodes-eurovalidate is a community node that integrates business data validation into n8n workflows. It validates VAT numbers across EU countries plus UK, Norway, Switzerland and Australia; validates IBANs with bank information from the Bundesbank directory; validates EU customs EORI numbers; and looks up company records by LEI or VAT number from the GLEIF database.
Unlike raw VIES API calls, the node returns data in plain JSON, handles multiple countries and registries through a single credential, and provides reliability during government outages using a dual-layer cache (Redis and PostgreSQL) with per-country circuit breakers. It returns the official VIES consultation number and includes metadata about data freshness and confidence levels.
The node works on self-hosted n8n and n8n Cloud, and can be called as an AI-agent tool. Five workflow templates are provided for common use cases including validating Stripe customers, qualifying B2B leads, cleaning supplier lists, onboarding clients, and vetting vendors.

- Does it work on n8n Cloud?
- Self-hosted works today. For n8n Cloud, the package is submitted for verification by n8n; until then Cloud users can call the API from an HTTP Request node with the X-API-Key header.
- What does it cost?
- The node itself is free under the MIT license. The API has a free tier of 100 validations per month and paid plans starting from €19/month (Starter plan with 500,000 validations per month).
- What happens when VIES is down?
- The node still succeeds and returns the last verified answer with reduced confidence and upstream_status indicating degraded service, or status unavailable if the number was never cached. You can branch on status and retry unavailable numbers with a Wait node.
- Why is the company name empty for German and Spanish numbers?
- Germany and Spain do not publish names and addresses through VIES due to data protection laws. The number validation still works; to get a company name you can use the Company lookup by VAT Number operation which accesses the GLEIF database.
- Can I validate VAT numbers in bulk?
- Yes, you can validate up to 1,000 VAT numbers in a single request using the POST /v1/batch endpoint. Results are processed asynchronously and you can poll for status or receive a webhook when complete.
