Overview

A look at browsergateway.com
BrowserGateway is an intelligent router for cloud browsers that routes Puppeteer, Playwright, Stagehand, browser-use, and any MCP client across Browserless, Steel, Browserbase, Lightpanda, or your own Chrome. It provides automatic failover across providers, persistent browser profiles that survive crashes, and full session replay with frame-by-frame debugging. The gateway works as a drop-in replacement with one endpoint routing connections, supports all five routing strategies including priority chain and load balancing, and includes an MCP server with eight browser tools for AI agents. It can be self-hosted as an open source package or used as a managed cloud service with session recording, observability, and a web dashboard.

FAQ
- What is BrowserGateway compatible with?
- BrowserGateway is compatible with Puppeteer, Playwright, Stagehand, browser-use, and any MCP client. It routes to Browserless, Steel, Browserbase, Lightpanda, or your own Chrome.
- Can sessions survive provider failures?
- Yes. BrowserGateway captures cookies, localStorage, and IndexedDB in encrypted profiles that can be replayed across different providers. Agents resume mid-workflow, state auto-captures on disconnect, and users stay logged in across providers.
- What happens when all providers are busy?
- Connections wait in a FIFO queue instead of failing, with configurable timeouts. The gateway enforces concurrency limits per provider so they never get overwhelmed.
